Our Primary children were absolutely hyper today, the day before school starts.
So instead of trying to ignore it, we encouraged them to share their excitement.
We asked the children, 'Who is going to be in first grade?'
All new first graders raised their hands.
'Who is going to be in 2nd grade?'
Hands shot up and giggles went around the room.
At that point, one of the 'new to be in second graders' raised his hand and said, 'I got the smart teacher!!'
In response, a child on the other side of the room said, 'I think I got the dumb one!'
I laughed so hard I had to leave the room.
