2018-The Readers Digest Version - part 3- Alaskan Cruise

Anchorage Alaska Airport was only the beginning of the many sightings of bears, whales, fish and great fun.
We started the whole trip in Seward Alaska where Del's cousin Alisa, owned a Seawater Safari company, where
she had us stay in one of her lodges and then we spent the whole next day on an all day 'out to sea' fishing
excursion.  Oh my Gosh..  What an experience!!  We caught fish, we saw whales and we loved every minute of it.  We had our fish cut up, fillet'd and then shipped to Texas to arrive the day after we got home.

I so enjoyed the private time Del and I had to experience this opportunity.

Such a feeling of pure joy and success.

Time to cruise!!

Del especially loved the glaciers.

You would never know it was 48' outside.
Downright cold..

Enjoying an Alaskan sunset.

Every night was the best dinner.

And every night, we would watch the nightly outdoor movie on the ship's big screen.

Our first port was Juneau, the capitol of Alaska

Found this family owned fudge shop and had the best time listening to this young son in the family, tell us how to make fudge and all the secrets of living in Alaska.

                                                  Back on the cruise...fancy night.

Yes, this is escargot.  A snail.
And yes, I ate it.  Or, I should say, I swallowed it.

Second port was Ketchikan and it was so beautiful.
We watched a fun packed Lumberjack Show.

Our final port was Vancouver Washington, where we happened to find the
Mormon Tabernacle Choir in concert, so we were able to hook up with Rachel and Ruth in the morning for breakfast and then do tons of sightseeing.  We finally flew home Sunday even and made it back to Texas at 5:00 in the morning.  It really was a beautiful and serene time for both Del and myself.  We loved our private time to just be together - not a time of 'reconnecting' but a time of connecting more deeply.  A much needed trip for the both of us.
