Evie

She's almost two.
She repeats everything she hears.
Learning new words every day.
Almost always has a scrape, cut or 'owie' somewhere on her face.
Loves her Papa, but loves her Nana even more.
She loves having Nana in the nursery with her at church.
She loves life - happy almost all the time - and very cute.
I just love being with her -
She's almost two.  Do I think terrible two's will happen??
Why would she pass that stage of her wonderful life???

Date Nights

They called and asked if they could borrow the backyard for their date night.

The Garden is Planted

Del was gone to Boston all week, so while he was away, I played!!  I put most of the garden in, except for the green beans and the zucchini.  And within 5 minutes of us getting home from the airport when Del got home, we had changed our clothes and finished the planting before the big rain storms came in yesterday and today.  NOW, I'm hoping the water, hail and winds haven't uprooted any of our plants.  Time will tell.  But we are hoping for a beautiful and successful garden this year.

Sealing Day

March 15th was the big day.  We were so blessed to have President Bruce Jones, friend of the family and previous temple president, be the sealer for Ammon and Kathryn's big day.  And it was a beautiful day.  We had the bishop and his wife, Ammon's  cousin and family and then each of our children and their spouses were those in attendance.  It was fabulous.
And then later that evening, we had a small reception, social gathering of friends and family for cake and ice cream.  We had a really nice turn out of supporters for the kids big day - and it was just so nice to have some we have not seen in a long time come to the house.
I couldn't be more happy for the kids.  Kathryn looked beautiful and happy.  Ammon seemed very happy and pleased.  The Lord has truly blessed us all.

Families Can Be Together Forever

My heart is full - and I am blessed.
After months and years, I was blessed to attend the temple and see my sweet daughter, Kathryn, receive her endowment in the Dallas Temple.  I cannot begin to express my joy.  And to have ALL my children there, WITH their spouses, was an emotion that spilled over into tears as I entered the endowment room with Kathryn.  I was her escort, and was able to spend some special time with her as she had her washings and annointings...and then she met with the Matron of the temple.  It was at that time, I was able to listen to the matron explain the importance of the garments and the blessings received from wearing the garment righteously.  I was comforted hearing all the promises she shared with Kathryn of the endowment and the living of the covenants Kathryn would make that day.  My heart swelled to watch Kathryn absorb it all.
I knew we were short on time as I watched the matron watch her clock.  The session was scheduled to start at that moment, but she wasn't finished explaining some of the important details Kathryn needed to know.  I felt slightly anxious, knowing those attending the session, were waiting for us.  It was at that moment though, that the matron shared the following words that would become the most comforting and significant words of the moment for me.
'Don't worry.  They won't start without you'.
Knowing that the rest of my family was sitting in that endowment room, waiting for us, meant more to me than just 'at that moment'.  We would have never started ETERNITY without Kathryn.  And as we were escorted by the matron to the endowment room, I first caught Del's eye - then Ammon - then I saw Kylie and Lexi.  Mike was next, and then lastly, I saw Jordan.  My heart then over flowed and the tears fell.  We could now start Eternity.
Today, it's the 12th of March and Ammon and Kathryn are being sealed this Friday, the 15th.  Del and I bought both Ammon and Kathryn several pairs of garments.  We got Kathryn her own temple dress, Ammon his temple clothing and both of them have their own temple robes etc.  We have a small reception Friday night for family and ward members with a wedding cake and some of our yummy soft ice cream.  It will be at the house.  Then, life will go on.
I am happy - life is sweet - I am content.  Del and I could not feel any more blessed or grateful for these recent sweet moments in our life.  Our family is the happiest it has ever been.  We still have our trials of finances, illness and the earthly struggles we are meant to live through.  But we are doing it together, as a family.
An Eternal Family.

What Happens in Vegas......

....Stays in Vegas!!
And what a great time we had.  Del and 3 of his brothers and their wives, had a mini Lott brother reunion.  We met in Las Vegas at Bert's house and then we traveled the 3 hours to the BEAUTIFUL and HUGE cabin of Brian's Uncle in law.  It had 23 bedrooms, 28 bathrooms and was over 15,000 square feet - huge - gorgeous - and soooo relaxing.  We had snow that allowed for warm and cozy fires - we played games - a LOT of games, ate til we busted and relaxed until we could barely move.  It was some of the most enjoyable time Del and I have had in awhile.
It was wonderful to see Del interacting with his brothers and the love and friendship they share one for another.  Us sister in laws got along beautifully also - it was well planned and enjoyed by all.
On the last day, Del was able to give both Lon and Bert, priesthood blessings, both of which were beautiful and very much appreciated by his brothers.
Hoping we do something like this again -

OXI-MORON at It's Finest

It was 32' degrees outside and Del had left over chocolate ice cream in the Soft Serve Ice Cream Machine.
OF COURSE we wanted some!!
AND a fire!
It was a perfect night for both!

While the Cat's Away the Mouse Will....

Paint!!  The mouse will paint.
We hired Kylie to paint our house while we were gone on vacation.
We spent 5 days with Del's brothers and their spouses in February (which I still need to post about), and while we were gone, Kylie painted three of our bedrooms and did a fantastic job.  I told her I would buy her dinner, which I still need to do also, if she had them done by the time we got back - and she had them done, except for these final last spots, which her daddy helped her finish.
The two were hilarious working together - I got the biggest kick listening to them interact while painting - very entertaining..

Spelled the Same Way

Can you believe that??
I went to the temple the other day and went to the front desk to ask some questions about an issue, and LOOK WHO I TALKED TO!!
We had a nice visit and I liked her immediately.

We Miss Them

Jordan and Lexi bought a new home last month and moved out.
And they took these two with them.
Our house now is very quiet...and clean...and...quiet.
We miss them.  But it was time.  And they LOVE their new house - and bedrooms, and back yard.
But our house is very quiet...and clean...and...
quiet.
