2018 -The Reader's Digest Version - part 1 - Jan-March 2018

Negligent.
Lazy.
Forgetful.
Overwhelmed.
All the above -
That's what I felt after just the first month of 2018..  So, I didn't blog.
I always promise to do better - and I even start off with a bang.  But somewhere along the way, I get just far enough behind that I get lazy, forgetful, negligent and then completely overwhelmed thinking of trying to catch up.
Hence, today is January 3rd, 2019.
But instead of pretending 2018 didn't happen, I'm going to take the highlights of the year, add a few pictures to each one and then start this year of 2019 with another...BANG!!
Del and his counselors were released as a Bishopric the middle of December 2017.
What a wonderful 5 years we experienced with these great men

February and the beginning of March brought the planting season for our garden.

We had some top notch help this year in planting our garden.

It really became quite the family affair, with the grandchildren each planting their flower seeds in their colorful pots.

with careful help from Kylie and Lexi, the kids were able to plant

and water their own choice of flowers.

After all of our garden fun, it was time for play time out in the backyard.

Preston and Emerson enjoying climbing up and down the 'cliff' on the side of the yard.
One of our front flower beds that had been planted earlier.

March 16, 2018 brought the passing of Del's sweet mother, Shirley. She was beautiful to the end and each of the
children and grandchildren were able to spend some sweet time with her before she passed.

Kathryn and Ammon were able to join us for the weekend in Idaho
with Del's extended family.

We stopped by to see Darlene, Del's step mother, on the way back from the trip.

The reclining chair sat empty for many days after her passing.
She will be missed by many..
