'Lighten Up'

This has been a fun 'first' experience of putting lights up on the house for Christmas. And all our neighbors have been very patient waiting for us to be the last on the block to get our lights up.  In fact, when I took cookies over to our neighbors across the street, they said that because we were 'new to the way things were done in the new hood' they would excuse us for not having our lights up the day after Thanksgiving.  WOW!!!  Of course, they were teasing!!?????  But we got right on it this past week.  Del and I spent two nights putting up lights after work and we still have the front arch and the two pillars to get finished.  Hopefully, we'll have those done tomorrow.  But we don't even have our tree done yet.  So hard to get it all done when we both work full time and by 7:00 each night, we are exhausted.
But we must.
Can't be the neighborhood disappointment our very first year.
We must represent, even if we do it just one day at a time.
