It's US This Time

Being 10-15 minutes away is not very far on days like today.
Days that are filled with sirens, lock downs and destruction to towns that are only 10-15 minutes away.
They say a total of 12 tornadoes touched down in Texas today - at least those that were documented. There are some who think there were more.
And they were close.
I had an early day at work today; done at 2:00. I came home just as the rain started and the sirens started going off. There had been chatter at the office as some were watching the internet to see what the rumors of tornado watches were producing. By the time I got home, it was pouring. Jordan was watching the news. Schools were locked down and two tornadoes had already touched down further southwest. And people were getting nervous. Phone calls were being made to love ones...texts were coming in from family and friends and facebook was being filled with concerned posts asking about our safety. And yet, it was all still 10-15 minutes away.
But after it is all said and done, it's not as bad as some others have been throughout our country this year, but it was bad enough for those affected.
So far, no deaths reported...but some cities obliterated and many lost everything they had.
I feel blessed. Not touched directly, but emotionally a little shaken.
A prayer goes out to those not so lucky.
